Our client is an established world leader within their specialised market and is looking for a Heat Treatment Specialist / Metallurgist to join their fantastic team. This client is offering an excellent package and the opportunity to join a successful organisation.Role & Responsibilities:The Metallurgist shall be able to analyse and report on failures from multiple grades of steel and heat treatments. Review and analyse causes of failure on assembled components based on test results and provide conclusions that can be relayed to the customers.Main Duties and Responsibilities:* Drawing conclusions and reporting accurately on findings.* Ensuring compliance with national and international standard and legislation in particular AMS2750.* Failure and fracture analysis to identify initiation points, route causes and report conclusions and recommendations accordingly.* Contribute and help to maintain health and safety (risk analysis and environmental standard in the laboratory.* Ensure metallurgical based equipment is calibrated in accordance with required scheduled.* Support in reading and proving laboratory reports prior to release.* Provide support to the component cleanliness monitoring team* Integral towards the maintenance of NADCAP approvals for Heat Treatment and Chemical Processing* Ability to operate within production time constraints and determine possible causes for production material related issues and provide possible solutions or containment methods.* Provide support and suggestions for project and samples teams when choosing materials and processes.* Coordinate with the support of the materials team leader workload priority within the laboratory so that deadlines are achieved.* Proactively ensures quality procedures and guidelines are followed to ensure quality objectives are metKnowledge, Skills & Experience:* A degree or equivalent in metallurgy or materials science/engineering.* A minimum of 3 years industry-based experience in a metallurgist role.* Experience of manufacturing processes* Experience in metallurgy of heat-treated low alloy steels.* An understanding of chemicals, oils and coatings would be beneficial.* NADCAP awareness and knowledge across heat treatment, chemical processing * Ability to work effectively as a member of a team or individuallyBenefits Package:o£38k - £42k Depending on Experience oDays roleoFantastic benefits package Suitable candidates should apply immediately by calling our Managing Consultant for this vacancy Emma Hardman on or by sending your CV directly to her at We regret that this client is not prepared to sponsor work permit or work permit transfer applications.
