Job Title: Head of PMOSF30825Location: Devonport, PlymouthBusiness Unit: WarshipsSalary: £60,000 (plus bonus and private healthcare)Overall Department DirectionAn exciting opportunity to join our Surface Ship support team as our Head of PMO, providing support across our range of projects and programmes within the business unit. Our support footprint covers Scotland and the South West, with the role based in Plymouth, Devon.The role is within our Surface Ship business unit, part of the Marine & Technology Division of Babcock International Group. The through-life support we provide for the Royal Navy covers all Surface Combatants (Type 23 Frigates), the Amphibious Class vessels and Sandown Class MCMVs.Main Purpose of RoleAs the Head of PMO, you will work with the Warships team to provide effective business, project and programme support as well provide insight against our performance.As an experienced leader within a Programme Management Office, you will bring strong programme management and support disciplines to ensure our projects and programmes are supported effectively and we provide a standards-based support model through the PMO to the business unit. Your excellent communication skills will ensure the PMO remains engaged with the business unit and customer; from project delivery teams, the business unit executive and senior customer stakeholders.As the Head of PMO you will be responsible for:*Leadership of the PMO, developing and growing organisational capability to deliver a standards-based business, project and programme support*Ensuring we remain compliant with corporate policy in respect of security, information assurance and business continuity*Providing business support and insight that satisfies the contracted requirements for Business & Enterprise Management under the Common Support Model for the Surface Ship Support AllianceRequired Knowledge, Skills, Experience and CompetencesEssential*Knowledge and experience of developing and leading Programme Management Offices*Strong commercial awareness*Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to deliver outputs at Board Level, with a track record of using MS Office Suite of applications*Performance Management*Ability to operate in a partnering environment with other managers and the MOD customerQualifications*A Degree, or equivalent level, in a Business/Engineering/Technical subject or alternatively HNC*Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)*Project, Programme & Portfolio Offices (P3O)Babcock offers a supportive environment including: enhanced employment terms and conditions, money purchase pension scheme with life assurance, share ownership scheme, Occupational Health services, flexible working hours (only non-industrials), career opportunities and specialist advice and guidance from our Learning & Development teams.
