Good in Operator required for a temporary role for a recognised leader in confections with a wide range of product offerings including gum, mints and various types of sweets, working at their chewing gum factory in Estover in Plymouth on a long term assignment.Supporting the Factory and Warehouse, the Goods Inward Operator will need to use their initiative, work independently and have good communication skills to deliver the Goods-in process effectively. The job holder will be instrumental in ensuring timely release of incoming materials to allow the factory to continue running, while any issues or non-conformances are escalated and communicated accordingly. The work will predominantly be computer-based, comparing and filing raw material certification but will also include physical checks of material samples and the collecting/storing of physical samples. Maintaining a computer-based filing system will play a key part of the role, to ensure adequate records are kept in order to demonstrate conformance. The job holder may also be asked to support general warehouse tasks, which could include physical material sampling. Essential:• Minimum GCSE Maths and English essential.• Good communicator – Able to communicate well, sometimes using technical terminology. • Good inter-personal skills required.• Computer literate; Good PC skills including understanding / knowledge of database systems and experience of using spreadsheets and email.• Able to work productively alone and as part of a team.Desirable:• Knowledge/experience of SAP databases preferred.
