Job Title: Field Authorised PersonLocation: Plymouth, Devon, GB, PL1 4SGCompensation: £37,165 + BenefitsRole Type: Full time / Permanent Job ID: SF41460We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We ensure that Royal Navy vessels go to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarinemaintenance programmes. The High Voltage department is responsible for operating and maintaining electrical supplies, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our three high voltage networks installed here. There is significant major infrastructure investmenton site requiring increased, continuous support from the HV team enabling us to create this fantastic opportunity.Who we are looking forWe are looking for an Authorised person, specifically trained and authorised to be able to undertake performance switching activities on high voltage platform and issuing safety documentations (safe system of work). The main purpose of your role is to minimiserisk of accidents in HV systems. Ideally youll come from an industrial background - generators, transformers, protection relays, switch gear (not commercial) and be experienced in industrial power distribution systems.What will you be doingAs Field Authorised Person, you will undertake switching, testing and commissioning duties as required by the High Voltage Authorised Person in Control to support the maintenance and upgrades of our complex High Voltage network. You will ensure the safe operationof plant and systems under your control and issue the relevant safety documentation to cover the switching, commissioning, testing and maintenance of our high voltage distribution systems. Youll receive a comprehensive training programme before formal assessmentand subsequent authorisation.
