Parson Funeral Directors is one of the leading independent family-owned funeral service providers operating along the South West Peninsula of Devon and East Cornwall. We have a vacancy for an Embalmer to join our team.We are seeking an exceptional candidate capable of providing Embalming and preparation to the highest standard, ensuring a professional image is portrayed at all times. You will also be required to carry out duties associated with the role including facilitating viewings with bereaved families, removal of the deceased from the place of death and coffin preparation.You will need to be well presented, trustworthy, courteous and polite, pay close attention to detail and able to deal with people with empathy whilst at the same time having a smile on your face.You will need to either be qualified with the British Institute of Embalmers, or have at least two years’ practical experience as an embalmer to be considered for this role. A full driving licence is also required.This role will be based at our Plympton branch, working full time between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. You will be required to take part in the Out of Hours Removal Rota to allow us to provide a 24-hour service. This involves being on call outside of office hours for 17 weeks’ during the year on a rota basis.
