Job Title: Design and Safety Process ManagerSF33519Location: Devonport, PlymouthBusiness Unit: SubmarinesSalary: £ 43,445.00About the roleHere at Babcock International were looking to recruit a Design and Safety Process Manager.Situated within DRDLs Licensed Site, the Submarine Refit Complex (SRC) and Non-Tidal X-Berths (NTXB) provide the UKs premier SSN deep maintenance facility, directly supporting the successful delivery of Babcock Submarines SSN Project interests to the Royal Navy. Consisting of many specialised roles, the Radioactive Waste Plant Management organisation, reporting to the Plant Manager Radioactive Waste, is charged with the responsibility of the safe provision of the Radioactive Waste handling facilities & plant, including the provision of governance over the collection, handling, storage and disposal of such waste.The Plant Management Radioactive Waste Management Team is focused on ensuring that work across the SRC and 5 Basin site is undertaken safely and in accordance with our approved processes, ensuring compliance with the mandated regulatory requirements.The team will be encountering exciting new challenges over the next few years as the company enters a phase of introducing new Safety Cases, ensuring sustainability of existing facility & plant and developing a capability that will meet the medium and longer term needs of the dockyard (including facility and plant upgrade).The Radioactive Waste Management Organisation has a proven track record for staff development.
