Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Data Quality Reviewer to work for 12 month assignment for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary at their offices in Crownhill Plymouth.This tole will be working Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE BEEN LIVING WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.The principal responsibility of the Data Quality Reviewer is to undertake quality assurance activity in respect of collision data received, created, and utilised by force and partner agencies.In particular to:

  • Check road traffic collision reports to assess data quality and completeness on a live basis.
  • Research and secure relevant collision data from force paper and digital records, collating and recording key information on to the CRASH database
  • Undertake timely telephone enquiries with members of the public who have been involved in road traffic incidents to ascertain/confirm the extent of injury resulting from road traffic collisions, referring cases back to the Evidence Review Officers as required
  • Ensure CRASH records accurately detail collision information against set criteria and data sets, updating records on a regular and timely basis in support of partner agency data analysis and national reporting requirements.
  • Respond to taskings and joint agency activity as directed by the Force and VZSW line management, including data reconciliation and reporting activity
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships, including liaison with investigating officers, Evidence Review Officers, Coroners Officers. Highways England, Department for Transport, Local Authority and Vision Zero South West colleagues,
  • Attend and contribute to local and national meetings, sharing good practice and ideas for service and system improvements.
  • Manage own workflow including enquiries, reports to key partners in line with reporting periods
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Proactive and enquiring approach to managing role related activities.
  • Experience of database use and management including data input, research, extraction, reporting and presentation (Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to engage with individuals with empathy and sensitivity according to their need, and to present information clearly, accurately, and concisely.
