Curriculum Manager - NauticalLocation: Middle EastOverseas Package:Circa £50-60k Tax-Free + Flights, Pension Allowance, Accommodation, Medical, & Recreation FacilitiesAbout the JobAn excellent overseas job opportunity has arisen in the Middle East with one of our key clients in the Defence & Marine sector. We are searching for a highly skilled Curriculum Manager to support the scheduled service programme for our customer based in the Middle East. Training will be delivered in a purpose-built facility and utilising advance simulation and emulation techniques. The post holder will be required to lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure effective training delivery with high levels of student success.About the ClientOur client has a well-established overseas presence where they have developed a reputation for working closely with local partners to support economic development by transferring knowledge, skills and technology to add value and capability. As a prime contractor under a Government to Government arrangement which is in place to provide equipment, support and training to the customer based in the Middle East, you will have the opportunity as Curriculum Manager to further your career with one of the most respected Marine & Defence businesses in the world.Key ResponsibilitiesAs Curriculum Manager - Nautical, you will manage and ensure course approvals for the UK Maritime and Coastguard Authority (MCA) and other awarding bodies. You will lead and manage the development and delivery of all courses in the Deck curriculum area with responsibility for the project management of new bespoke Marine and Ports related commercial courses. You will also be expected to lead and develop a broad range of niche courses including; Advanced Ship Handling, Tug Handling, Bridge Simulator, Bridge & Engine Resource Management, and Polar Code courses. In addition, you will have the opportunity to lead and further develop courses on Electronic Chart Display, Global Maritime Distress & Safety, Restricted Operators Certificate and Navigation Aids & Equipment Simulator Training.About the PersonThe ideal candidate for this Curriculum Manager position, will most likely hold a Class 1 Master Mariner qualification or relevant degree and have experience of operational management in training delivery including effective development, deployment and leadership of staff. As Curriculum Manager, you will also have experience in the planning, development, approval and the delivery of Marine Engineering core curriculum and the underpinning knowledge of the STCW qualification standards. Furthermore, to succeed in this profile role, and given the unique nature of the culture and work environment, you will possess a strong ability to be pragmatic and demonstrate first-class diplomatic skills.Whilst it isn’t essential for succeeding in overseas jobs, it would be a distinct advantage if you have previous experience of working in the marine & defence sector in a Middle East country. Given the nature of the job, it will also be helpful if you have meticulous attention to detail and can operate to strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.Reward & Overseas BenefitsThe package for this Curriculum Manager - Nautical role is substantial.
