Job Description

Role Details:

  • Hybrid and On-site positions are available
The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting multiple experienced Nuclear Civil Engineers to join a Nuclear Civil client, to be based out of Plymouth/Devonport Dockyard.Some of your duties will include:
  • Assist the Discipline Lead with structural engineering work packages.
  • Manage technical deliverables for structural engineering packages.
  • Operate within the Major Infrastructure Projects Business Unit
  • Prepare and check designs, reports, drawings, specifications, and other documents for Nuclear and Non-Nuclear related plants, facilities, and equipment.
  • Participate in problem-solving for technical solutions and new designs.
  • Support review and sentencing of new designs, construction methodologies, and temporary works.
  • Manage design work packages appointed by Discipline Lead
  • Supervise and provide guidance to junior staff.
  • Utilize Learn from Experience information to develop and disseminate theoretical knowledge.
  • Support development, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Facilities
  • Support on-site inspection of DRDL assets for construction, maintenance, and modification
  • Maintain familiarity with DRDL procedures used in Facilities Engineering.
do you need to succeed
  • Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council or working towards chartership.
  • Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge
  • Design and substantiation of heavy civil engineering and building structures to relevant seismic codes.
  • Knowledge of architectural design of industrial buildings
  • Knowledge of building services design and installation
  • Knowledge of construction techniques for Nuclear Safety related structures and buildings
  • Understanding of engineering design and safety practice relevant to post and project requirements.
  • Understanding of company and departmental procedures relating to Health and Safety, Design, and quality
