We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual, to work full time over 5-days, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours/day to assist a multi-skilled team of tradesmen to undertake planned and reactive maintenance as well as alterations and improvement works within properties on the Livewell Southwest estate.You will possess a City & Guilds in Carpentry or equivalent qualification and must have served a recognised trade apprenticeship. Additionally, you must have knowledge of buildings of all age categories, safe working procedures using scaffolding, towers and ladders and an understanding of a wide range of ironmongery suitable for a commercial environment.You should have the ability to follow written maintenance instructions and to complete maintenance records in a legible manner and be familiar with a wide range of construction materials.You must be able to work alone, or as part of a maintenance team, so as to provide an effective service to client groups. The ability to undertake repairs & maintenance, with minimum disruption within a healthcare, is essential, as are good customer care skills and an understanding that the needs of staff & patients are also very important.Good communication skills and a willingness to undertake training are required. You must be numerate and literate, with good written skills, and be willing to undertake further job training.You must be able to work overtime at short notice, if required, and have the ability to travel across Plymouth.Priority consideration may be given to Livewell Southwest Estates staff with substantive or fixed term contracts and those staff at risk or directly affected by changes within Livewell Southwest.Livewell Southwest values its staff and makes investment in their development a priority.
