Exciting new bus network for Cornwall requires bus driversBus services in Cornwall are set to further improve from 29th March 2020 when a new package of supported services is introduced with improved frequencies and routes, reduced fares for passengers, better links with rail, integrated school transport services and more environmentally friendly buses.A new eight-year contract has been awarded to Go Cornwall Bus, a subsidiary of national company Go-Ahead, to deliver a network of Council subsidised local bus routes which are essential to residents but are not commercially viable. This makes up around 50% of the bus services in the Duchy.Under the new partnership Transport for Cornwall’, a new higher standard will be delivered, showing nationally how bus services in rural communities should be delivered, bringing communities together.Go Cornwall Bus has been delivering contracts in Cornwall in Cornwall Since 2015. This contract win expands the business west to cover the whole county. It brings with it the type of innovation and passenger focus that makes Go Cornwall Bus the winner of the National Transport Awards for Bus Operator of the Year in 2019.With our delivery partners, Go Cornwall Bus has committed to investing in 100 new buses, with the majority arriving this year.From St Just to Saltash, Bude to Breage, Go Cornwall Bus, alongside our engineering partners, Corserv and other smaller operators in the county are after a great team to deliver this exciting network.If you are a bus driver in Cornwall we want to hear from you!
