Job Description

Biomedical ScientistPlymouth£18 - £20phrTFS Healthcare is seeking an experienced, Biomedical Scientist for a new, rewarding opportunity to start asap in the Plymouth area.Biomedical Scientist Job description: Job Purpose 1. To provide a clinical technical service by performing a range of routine and specialist techniques to the biological material submitted for examination.2. To undertake scientific duties within the Department to facilitate the smooth running of the service.3. To maintain and run specialist equipment up to a value of £350,000 Key Dimensions

  1. The post holder will work together with the staff in all sections of the Cellular Pathology Department to produce a timely, high quality, accurate and cost effective service.
  2. The post holder will be predominantly based in the Main Lab section of the Histology Department but will be required to work in other sections of the laboratory. During this time they will be accountable to the Section Lead within the area worked for theperformance and quality of the work undertaken.
  3. The post holder will ensure the timely processing of 40,000 biological specimens submitted for histological and non-gynaecological cytology examination, serving all those patients attending PHNT and the PCTs.

As a Biomedical Scientist, you will need to hold the following requirements:
  • 12-24 months minimum experience in the field
  • HCPC registration
  • Must have UK based experience
  • Must have full right to work in the UK
