Job Description

Scout Recruiting is excited to be working with our Peterborough based client who are now recruiting for a Web Designer to join their team.This is a full time Permanent role Salary £20,000 - £24,000 Monday to Friday 9-5.30(although flexibility in hours maybe needed depending on workloads) and ideal for anyone who is either a graduate for starting out on their career as a web designerThe suitable candidate will have a good design flare and has some experience of UX design and basic web coding. In this role you will be responsible for designing content for their various websites and digital marketing, updating and adding content to currentsites using our CMSs, working with our developers and marketing team to help bring their vision to life.Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of design projects, design page layouts and templates.
  • Understand briefs to ensure company branding is maintained in design projects.
  • Work with other teams to deploy designs across multiple platforms with an awareness of UI/UX principles.
  • Produce assets for use in social media and marketing channels etc.
  • Design user-facing features for our various internal and external facing platforms.
  • Communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Continuously ensure all Company procedures are adhered to.
  • General duties may also include: - Answering telephone enquiries; following database and administrative procedures; purchasing of non-stock items/materials.
  • Ensure a good tidy working environment in the office.
  • Ensure that all company provided equipment is in good working order and complies with Health and Safety
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure continued presence during staff lunch breaks and absences.
Key Skills:
  • Imagination, creativity, attention to detail and good communication
  • Experience in design programs such as Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Some understanding of languages/technologies such as HTML, CSS, SCSS, JS, PHP etc
  • Willingness to learn CMSs such as WordPress, Shopify etc
  • Excellent IT skills
