Job Description

Senior Estate and FM Manager - Corporate Offices£70,000 circa15 FTC MonthsBedford Office"We are looking for an individual with experience or exposure to office relocations. In this role we need you to guide us through the dos and donts. You will take a leading role in driving the office move programme forward. You will be a naturalleader, someone who is not afraid of getting their hands dirty to get stuff done. Of course, the full relocation will be contracted out, so we are not asking you to move boxes but to be our dedicated Senior Estate / FM Manager that will deliver our ambitionto move out of London by early 2024!Working as our Estate Manager, you will manage the FM and Estate Officer and the office manager for the new office based in central Bedford. You will work closely with our Commercial Manager for Estates plus have the ongoing support from external propertylawyers, architects, project managers, and other specialist support when required. This is a great opportunity to play a big part in an important programme which aims at achieving the government agenda of levelling up.Working as the Estates Manager, your key responsibilities will be;

  • Exit the existing lease in London and negotiate with the landlord on dilapidation costs.
  • Agree the lease agreement with the new public sector landlord in Bedford.
  • Lead the design and fit out for the new office space in Bedford. (850 sqmt.)
  • Lead the setup of the interim office in Bedford.
  • Lead the relocation from the current office.
  • Manage the FM provision in the existing and new offices including working closely with the Health & Safety lead to ensure offices are compliant with H&S regulations
You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
  • Have experience of office relocations.
  • Ideally have public sector experience, - central government either on a supply or client side.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills across suppliers, contractors etc.
  • Have excellent commercial skills and the ability to collaborate across the business effectively.
  • Show an understanding or experience of large programmes with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Be considerate of the colleague engagement. (Employee experience (EX))
Ultimately, you will be a natural leader who takes the approach to work with a "can do" attitude.Comfortable working collaboratively - can operate as part of a large programme and/or in a matrix environment.Desirable skills;
  • A member or working towards an FM qualification, for example IWFM.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the: - Government Estates Strategy 2018 (specifically Places for Growth and Smarter Working) & Government Property Agency Strategy 2020-2030 (specifically Great Places to Work)
