Job Description

Senior Automation EngineerAre you looking for a new challenge that offers innovation, career development and incredible job satisfaction Photocentric Ltd is an award-winning manufacturer based in Peterborough and the USA. We are innovators in 3D printing, the manufacture of printers, resin and now parts, enabling us to hold 3 Queens Awards. We have recently developed and optimisedthe printing processes we invented to make it possible to 3D print items in a scale that has never been possible before. To make this vision a reality we are now looking for a highly motivated, automation engineer to join our engineering team as Senior Automation Engineer.The role:The role will be varied as we develop processes that will change the way the world manufacturers, making digital mass manufacturing a reality. The successful candidate will be instrumental in refining the elements of each manufacturing process, which willbe specific to the product being made, and then integrating them into a seamless conveyorised process, controlled from the cloud. These processes will operate in our new facilities here in Peterborough and in Phoenix, AZ. The processes will then be introducedinto large manufacturing companies around the world. It is an incredibly exciting project with the ability to disrupt many manufacturing models.Main responsibilities of ourSenior Automation Engineer:

  • Design, specification and installation of manufacturing machinery.
  • Combining these machines with our 3D printers into a single process.
  • Controlling the process by a software system, from IBC of resin to delivery of parts.
  • Propose and implement improvements to all equipment and processes to improve efficiency.
Experience required for ourSenior Automation Engineer:
  • 5 years experience of designing and building automation systems.
  • Experience of processing equipment (eg washing, curing, spraying, thermoforming, polishing, laser cutting, CNC).
  • PLC programming expertise.
  • Proven experience of specifying and installing production machines
  • Independent thinker who can solve problems
  • Understanding of regulatory standards
  • Knowledge of single board computers such as Arduino / Raspberry Pi
