Job Description

Our client specialises in 5 key sectors: Defence, Justice and Immigration, Transport, Health and Citizen servicesOn behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Procurement Project Manager for a 6 Month contract based in Peterborough.Peterborough City Council have requested an experienced Procurement Project Manager with extensive procurement experience to support the successful delivery of a range of organisational change projects across the procurement function.Procurement Project Manager duties:

  • Provide Subject matter expertise on project managing a procurement transformation project.
  • Develop the business cases and ensure results are capable of achieving the clients defined benefits
  • Prepare project initiation documents; Project plans, stage assessments and progress/exception reports and other related documentation
  • Manage business and project risks and issues, including the development of contingency plans, where/when needed.
  • Manage project budgets and resourcing
Scope of work includes:
  • Governance at corporate and service levels
  • Analysis of contracts in scope (feasibility, Terms and Conditions, supplier engagement, realistic milestones, page turning)
  • Developing a Straw Model for a fit for purpose procurement function in the long term (capacity, category management, sustainable supplier model, promoting local, social value)
  • Technology enablers to provide end to end, purchase to pay and contract management processes
  • A saving tracker which reflect realistic status and progress, and mitigating actions to address shortfalls
Additional:
  • Ideally experience with working in Local authority and public sector background.
  • Holds one or more industry standard qualification such as Prince 2, MoP, MSP, APMP, PMI APM, MoR, Agile
  • Experienced in typical project management tools such as MS Project
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Home-based role with exceptions of travelling to stakeholder sites for meetings if needed.
