Job Description

New Horizons CoachPeterborough with some home working (also covering St Neots and Wisbech)Up to £22,069.54 per annum (based on 31 hours per week)TemporaryOur client is one of the leading housing groups in the Midlands and East of England, providing more than 23,000 homes and a wide range of care and support services, with a team of 1,300 colleagues.Guided by their shared values, their vision is to improve the lives of their customers and communities, focusing on two clear themes of work: Health and wellbeing and economic resilience.An exciting opportunity has arisen, and they are looking for someone who has coaching, mentoring or advice-work experience to join their Community Investment team to work on their successful employability project called New Horizons. This role is offered initially on a 12 month contract basis for 31hrs per week.New Horizons is jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund. The project consists of 5 partners with a core focus of supporting those that are out of work and struggling financially, to coach on an individual basis to help them make sense of their money, get online and move them closer to the labour market.The RoleDo you have a passion to make a real difference to their residents and local communities in Peterborough and the surrounding area If so, this might be the role for you.When you join as their New Horizons Coach you will:

  • Provide one-to-one support to those that are unemployed and/or economically inactive helping them to identify their goals around money, work and being online.
  • Meet people in their own homes, convenient locations or within relevant services to help them develop skills and confidence around these key issues enabling people to progress towards their goals.
  • Be responsible for maintaining accurate records to assist with monitoring and reporting and meet audit requirements.
  • Work in partnership with their internal teams to promote the project to residents.
  • Work across the project partnership and with external statutory and voluntary agencies to promote the service.
