Job Description

Formulation Development Chemist - cosmetics & personal careUp to £28,000PeterboroughAn innovative and expanding organisation based in Peterborough are looking to add exceptional talent to their R&D team. This organisation specialises in the creation and manufacture of Personal Care products including Hair care, Skin care, Bathing and Grooming.The purpose of this role is to assist in the design, development and preparation of personal care and fragrance product formulations, meeting project briefs within budgets provided and ensuring compliance with both regulatory and customer requirements at all times.Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that legal, innovative, cost effective, creative and stable formulations are produced, whilst conforming to customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow the formulation development processes of the business ensuring all information is accurately recorded and passed on to relevant departments.
  • Consider scale up, production and manufacturing departments when fulfilling projects and liaise with process team as required.
  • Keep up-to-date with new product technologies, material and regulations, liaising with external raw material suppliers as required.
  • To maintain a clean and safe working environment within the lab and office, following all COSSH, risk assessments and health and safety requirements
  • Generate new product development prototypes for the Business Development Teams.
  • To ensure that approved formulations are validated, prior to production.
    • Key Skills:
  • A degree in Cosmetic Science or equivalent or extensive experience in a similar role
