Job Description

My Peterborough based client and a leader in its field, is now recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their team. With large growth targets over the next two years and beyond they are looking for a flexible and adaptable team member with strong managementskills to drive the necessary changes within the department.This is a permanent full time role with a salary expectation of up to £65K. Plus 25 days annual holiday entitlement plus bank holidays, a Group Pension Scheme Death in Service Income ProtectionManaging a team of 3 direct reports and taking responsibility for the smooth day to day running of the accounts function, they are looking for a strong leader who is confident in both their management and technical accounting abilities, to drive continuousprocess improvements and necessary changes within the department.The Financial Controller will report directly to the Finance Director, balancing multiple projects and objectives to tight deadlines, taking a "hands-on" approach to managing the function, and using excellent interpersonal skills to translate finance to non-financecolleagues.Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting team day to day, motivate and lead team members, support personal development and providing helpful feedback to improve performance
  • Prepare, review, and sign off the monthly Management Accounts within the prescribed timetable
  • Provide accurate and timely information with insightful and proactive analysis that helps drive the business forward.
  • Oversee weekly commercial reporting to the operating divisions.
  • Update periodic forecasting for the SMT, Bank and External funders.
  • Ensure compliance with Government reporting e.g. Vat, PAYE, NMW, Auto Enrolment
  • Preparation of routine reports for the Board and Senior Management Team
  • Lead weekly and monthly KPIs to ensure the business are equipped with relevant and accurate information
  • Able to work with and analyse large amounts of data within Excel and other analytical tools, with knowledge of Excel mistake proofing
Skills
  • You will be a qualified accountant ACA / ACCA / CIMA with 5 years PQ
  • Have a proven track record of team management.
  • An effective organiser with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines and balance multiple objectives.
  • A positive hands on approach
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to explain financial issues clearly to a non-financial audience.
  • Robust & accurate reporting / MI,
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Experience of change management and making process improvements in a finance function
