Job Description

One of our largest corporate clients based in Peterborough city centre are looking for a Category Insight Executive to join the Category Management and Retail Marketing Team.The main purpose of the role is to provide Category support on the SMR’s (small multiple retailers)as well as providing insight on Tesco and Sainsbury’s shoppers and ad hoc support to the Category Team.Some of the key elements of the job include;

  • Building ranges on partnership SMR accounts using Epos, wholesale and rankings data.
  • Review new ranges from other SMR accounts and check they are in line with agreed share of distribution targets.
  • Upload any new ranges that come in on the retailers.
  • Assist the Insight Analyst by providing the relevant data to deliver the agreed Category Management input.
  • Build and maintain reports from our data sources.
  • Report on the distribution share movements of the company and its competitors.
  • Assisting in any other projects as and when required within the Marketing Team.
Key skills required;
  • Excellent communication, customer service, relationship building and general people skills.
  • The ability to multi-task whilst working in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Data analysis skills would be highly advantageous.
  • Attention to detail is also very important.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • An understanding of retail processes.

No Category experience is required but someone who can demonstrate some kind of marketing or commercial background or at least awareness,would be ideal.
