Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Project Buyer has become available with a global manufacturing company based in Peterborough, on a contract basis.As part of the Project Team, you will be responsible for heading up various resourcing projects. You will be act as the point of contact for all team leads and suppliers. Ensuring all project activities are delivered on time and meet production requirements.Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead resource projects
  • Produce plans and weekly reports for the Project Procurement Manager
  • Lead project meetings with the suppliers and team leads
  • Minute meetings and manage action plans
  • Document and manage project risks
  • Process tooling estimates through approved processes and ensure purchase orders and issued
  • Manage samples from suppliers into the factories
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure projects stay on track
  • Carry out RFQ work as required
  • Produce cost analysis and sourcing recommendations
  • Produce cases for business approval of RFW recommendations
  • Support strategy development and implementation
About you:The successful applicant will have strong background in Procurement with demonstratable project skills showcasing the use of 6 Sigma, Prince2 and Microsoft Project. You must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Good computerskills with the ability to produce project plans, presentations and excel analysis. You must be able to maintain strong business relationships at all levels across a multicultural global environment. Ideally you will have some manufacturing experience, butnot essential.
