Job Description

Are you a time service Assembly Fitter with strong mechanical engineering experienceOur client based in Peterborough is seeking a time served Assembly Fitter to join them on a permanent full time basis working 7.30am-4.00pm Monday to Friday. During busy periods, you will be required to work different shifts to meet demand and overtime andshift allowances will be available in addition.ResponsibilitiesAs an Assembly Fitter, you will be responsible for:-

  • The assembly of machinery components
  • Testing of machinery
  • Building compressors
  • Gearbox assembly and much more
  • Strong understanding of customer requirements
  • Ensuring health & safety regulations and compliance,
  • Agree annual improvement targets
  • Develop and implement progression trackers against objectives
  • Ensuring machinery and equipment is properly maintained
  • Sharing continuous improvement & best practice principles.
Skills requiredTo be considered for the Assembly Fitter position, you will have:-
  • Strong manufacturing and engineering knowledge
  • A good understanding of Six Sigma, Kaizen & Lean.
  • You will have strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Will be an effective problem solver
  • You will also be able to read complex method statements, engineering drawings, etc
  • A time served Engineer
  • Or will have a relevant mechanical qualification as well as relevant assembly experience.
  • Enjoying working as part of a team
You position will mainly be based in Peterborough but from time to time there could be some national and international travel as part of the role.
