Job Description

If you are looking for a new opportunity, we could have the ideal role for you!One of our public sector clients based in Peterborough Quay House, are seeking someone to join their team, as anContract Support Officer on a Full-time temporary basis.Contract Support OfficerOur client are currently seeking a Contract Support Officer (CSO) to provide comprehensive technical support in financial administration. As a CSO, you will support a geographic Hub or a national team with Contract Support activities and may be requiredto provide business resilience by remotely covering other hubs. This is an excellent opportunity to develop strong contract support skills and contribute to the consistency and effectiveness of our national community of practice.Our client offers flexible working hours between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. Formal training sessions usually take place at 10am and 2pm once or twice per week, and your availability for these sessions is required. The rate of pay is £13.02 per hour.We are moving towards a hybrid working model, where you will be asked to go into your nearest office for a maximum of 1-2 days per week. This will provide opportunities for building working relationships, team building, and face-to-face training. The agreementfor remote work would be made with the local team leader.Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payment/invoices requests to ensure suppliers are paid on time.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with correct processes, including uploading new contracts and closing old contracts using our contract administration tools.
  • Respond to payment queries from project managers, suppliers, and managers.
  • Raise purchase orders to support procurement processes.
  • Investigate and resolve issues and anomalies related to contracts and payments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, Commercial Services Manager, and procurement colleagues, as well as external Supply Partners and third-party payments team.
  • Share best practices and maintain updated process knowledge with other Contract Support Officers.
  • Develop greater contractual awareness.
Requirements:
  • Numerical confidence and ability to prioritise business-critical activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at various levels.
  • Clear and concise articulation of complex technical information.
  • Ability to review and interpret financial data, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Proficiency in using accounting systems such as Sage or relevant financial qualifications (e.g., AAT).
  • Familiarity with financial and procurement systems and tools, including MS Teams and MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Practical administrative experience.
  • Basic understanding of NEC4 Contracts and GCSE Level qualifications in Mathematics.
Additional Information:
  • Free parking is not available at our new office location in Quay House, Station Road East in Peterborough. The area is well-serviced by public transport, and limited payable parking is available nearby.
  • While there is no staff canteen/restaurant, you will have access to nearby places to purchase sandwiches and snacks. We provide a designated area for staff to make drinks and enjoy lunch.
