Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.Applications are invited for an experienced Trials Officer to join our highly regarded Crop Trials team. The main responsibilities of this post are - trial site selection, crop drilling & establishment, crop spraying, crop harvesting, in field crop assessmentsworking to QA and H&S standards, record keeping and laboratory work during the harvest period. Attention to detail is a key requirement, along with a good knowledge of arable crops, particularly cereals and oilseeds, as the successful candidate will be requiredto manage SRUCs field trials sites.Ideally the successful candidate will have trials machinery experience using a wide range of arable farm machinery/equipment and hold a Certificate of Competence in Use of Pesticides PA1, PA2A & PA6. A BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection would be desirable.A current driving licence is essential since travel to remote farm sites will be required.Occasional evening and weekend work will be required at peak crop sowing and harvesting periods.
