Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.Based in SRUC’s Veterinary Services Analytical laboratories, in this role the main duties will include the following:• Unpacking, prioritising and distributing incoming submissions of samples.• Dealing with telephone/email /Teams queries from internal and external customers• Contacting vet practices and/ or farm clients to resolve queries• Manual processing of veterinary samples including labelling• Registering, moving submissions/samples and result entry within LIMS• Using Excel applications to handle data• Administrative support to staff within VAL.• Basic finance duties• Robotic processing of serology samples• Aliquoting samples• Driving to collect samples from local vet practices• Advising clients on testing requirements• Developing and maintaining a good understanding of the processes within VAL.Working hours are: 8:46a.m - 5:10p.m or 11:36a.m - 8.00pm Monday to Friday on a rotational basis with a lunch break of 1 hour each day.
