Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.A Stock Worker position has arisen within the Poultry Unit of SRUCs Monogastric Science Research Centre, based in Bush Estate, just outside Edinburgh. Working in the Poultry Unit, the successful applicant will take on a role as a Stock Worker in the husbandryof stock, ensuring animal welfare, data recording, building and equipment maintenance, and additional duties as required by Trial Delivery Manager. Some weekend work will be involved.The successful applicant will need to be able to work independently and as part of the Trial Delivery Team. Good communication skills and previous experience in animal husbandry are essential in this role. Poultry husbandry experience is highly desirable,and SVQ/NVQ qualifications in poultry or animal husbandry would be advantageous, as would certification in tractor/forklift driving skills.
