Job Description

ROLE: Manufacturing EngineerLOCATION: WellingboroughHOURS OF WORK: Days (Early finish on Friday)BASIC SALARY: £42K plus £4,200 bonusADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Private Medical, Bonus, Death in Service, PensionCompany ProfileOur client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join their organisation based in Wellingborough on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be methodical, resourceful, and highly organised. Working in all areas of abusy and growing multi-disciplined manufacturing environment, they will seek ways to improve and develop the manufacturing processes via the implementation of continuous improvement and engineering techniques.In this Manufacturing Engineer role, you will:

  • Implement, develop, and improve both equipment and procedures to reduce line downtime and increase efficiency.
  • Existing product re-engineering, to cut costs, save time or reduce inventory:
  • Design new systems, equipment, and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones using root cause analysis
  • Develop company manufacturing capability through investment and optimisation of existing resources.
  • Design input for production tooling/fixtures utilising Solidworks
  • Maintain a sound working knowledge of the mechanical and electrical functions of all machines by continually learning and implementing best practice.
  • Liaising with suppliers and contractors.
  • Support purchasing with technical queries or sourcing of alternative parts or new products.
  • Support and develop a programme of continuous improvement in all areas of production.

To be successful as a Manufacturing Engineer:
  • HND in an Engineering discipline
  • A multi skilled engineer with experience within a high technology engineering / manufacturing environment.
  • Sound understanding of lean principles with a proven track record of successful change projects
  • Experience in using and reporting using Continuous Improvement tools - 5S / Six Sigma / 8D / Kaizen
  • Good understanding of production tooling concepts/design
  • Used to complying with industrial standards
