Job Description

ROLE: Assembly Operative LOCATION: WellingboroughHOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday (Days)BASIC SALARY: £10.50 - £10.84 + £1560 bonus ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Bonus, Private Medical, Death In Service, Pension Company ProfileOur client is seeking a Assembly Operative to join their organisation based in Wellingborough on a permanent basis to provide a high quality, efficient assembly and testing service within the production line team and wider operations department. Workingwithin an experienced team you will use a variety of production assembly tools and bespoke processes / inspection tools to assemble and test a variety of mass flow instrumentation to exacting standards.In this Assembly Operative role, you will be responsible for:

  • To carry out pre-braze assembly duties, including ultrasonic cleaning and braze pasting. Also wiring, testing and inspection of assemblies in the company product range.
  • To acquire the knowledge from the build manuals and skills for assembling and testing the complete size / range of instruments ensuring the necessary quality standards are achieved.
  • To assist in other production related tasks, when required by the line team leader or Production Manager as appropriate within the line or wider production department.
  • To assist Production engineering department in developing and maintaining assembly shop floor documentation.
  • To work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures as set out by the company, especially regarding Manual handling and PPE.
  • To maintain all assembly tools and keep equipment in good working condition and keep the workstations tidy / organised in line with company housekeeping standards.
  • To assist in development of new production methods, to assist in improvements to the present product lines or development of new products.
  • Perform TPM and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and fixtures as requested
  • To support continuous improvement activity and take an active role in the implementation of improvements.
  • Support all ERPLN requirements.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Check all relevant paperwork and documentation.
To be successful as a Assembly Operative you must:
  • Proven experience in assembly related work within high technology production / manufacturing company.
  • Some formal training or, practical / theoretical knowledge of general engineering and / or assembling of electronic precision components.
  • Production experience in a small batch capital investment goods environment
  • Excellent accuracy of work
  • Good speed and consistency of assembling and related jobs
  • Good interpersonal skills and team working
  • Working to deadlines
  • Experience reading manufacturing drawings / specifications or work instructions
