In alignment with the refreshed Strategy, UWS Principal & Vice-Chancellor, Professor Craig Mahoney, is seeking to appoint an inspirational and talented individual to the post of Provost & Deputy Principal/Deputy Vice-Chancellor, to play a key part in the University’s Executive team.The successful candidate will support the Principal & Vice-Chancellor in delivering the strategic ambition of UWS, providing key oversight of the running of the University and developing its relationships with partner organisations, to enable the Principal & Vice-Chancellor to focus on his outward-facing role as the global ambassador for the University. The Provost & Deputy Principal/Deputy Vice-Chancellor will also provide dynamic and inspiring leadership to the University’s Deans, ensuring that their academic schools deliver an outstanding student experience and increase their research outputs.Responsibilities of the role include:• Leading on both strategic and operational planning, shaping the institutional strategy and priorities, including periodic review of the Strategy. • Providing leadership of the academic portfolio, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation, including motivating and inspiring the Deans of School to deliver an outstanding student experience coupled with driving and diversifying income streams. • Working with the Vice-Principals to ensure that research and teaching are delivered across the University to the highest standards.• Supporting the Principal & Vice-Chancellor in the running of the University, deputising for the Vice-Chancellor where required. • Working with Executive colleagues to ensure the sustainability of the University, from an ecological, social and economic perspective. • Liaising with external stakeholders to continually enhance the reputation of the University, and increase its profile, whilst developing and maintaining strategic academic partnerships.
