Job Description

Job Title: Student SupportLocation: Paisley PA3Pay Rate: £12 per hourHours: 35 hours per weekDuration: 12 weeks (ASAP start)PVG: PVG for children requiredMain Duties:

  • Support staff and students with appropriate resource materials and equipment as directed.
  • Ensure that all allocated resources and equipment are returned and stored in the designated areas at the end of each session.
  • Maintain store and workshops and contents in a safe and tidy environment.
  • Assist in the reporting of faulty equipment and inform the Technician, CQL, and ACQL when equipment is faulty, dangerous, or requires replacement.
  • Assist in the checking of received goods, materials, and resources and liaise with suppliers to order stock when directed.
  • Assist the technician in all related job tasks and carry out all general duties.
  • Contribute to appropriate cross-college planned maintenance schedules and related activities as directed.
  • Participate in Professional Development Planning.
  • Work collaboratively with staff within the College.
  • Contribute effectively to the development planning process.
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements and college policies.
  • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested by the line manager within the terms and conditions of the post.
Essential Requirements:
  • Industrial experience in one or more of the above disciplines.
  • Relevant, current CPD.
  • Experience in working in the industry in one or more of the above subject areas.
  • Experience in supporting multi-discipline course teams.
  • Experience in working in a learning environment with mixed and varied learner needs.
  • Experience in maintaining stores and designated workshop and workplace areas ensuring safe storage of contents in line with Health and Safety procedures.
  • Experience in moving a range of equipment and materials.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety practices when handling hazardous waste materials.
  • Good manual dexterity skills and knowledge of moving heavy materials and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to work effectively with others in ensuring safe working practices are always adhered to.
  • Skilled in monitoring, checking, and organizing stock controls as directed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with suppliers when directed.
  • Enthusiastic and committed team player.
  • Dependable and self-motivated.
