Job Description

Estates & Campus ServicesThe University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is one of the countrys largest modern universities and aims to have a transformational influence on the economic, social and cultural development of the West of Scotland, and beyond. UWS has a distinctive multicampus portfolio, with campuses in Ayr, Dumfries, Lanarkshire, London and Paisley.A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Campus Services for a Senior Facilities Manager to join the Campus Services team. Based in Paisley, the post has a multi-campus remit and will support the Head of Campus Services in the delivery of Campus and FacilitiesManagement.The postholder will provide support and professional advice to the Head of Campus Services and other senior colleagues as appropriate, on matters relating to Campus & Facilities Management including Security, Cleaning Services, Helpdesk Management, SpaceManagement, Financial Management and Staff Management.The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Degree or relevant qualification in an administrative or business-related discipline or equivalent experience within a facilities management environment
  • Full current driving licence
  • Significant experience of an HE environment or equivalent experience within a complex environment.
  • Budgetary and financial management experience
  • Experience of line management of staff.
  • Experience of facilities management functions including CAFM systems and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience of managing change in a complex environment, including the ability to initiate and manage change.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills to deliver effectiveness and efficiency, including key human resource skills will be required in areas of recruitment, career development, performance management, coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to motivate, encourage and empower staff members.
  • Excellent customer care skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Effective developer of relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Leadership skills and capable of establishing high level effective relationships across the University and with a range of external organisations.
  • Able to establish a high level of credibility with the academic community and with external stakeholders.
  • Broad understanding of emerging trends and innovative approaches to deliver enhanced customer services to key customer groups, with an excellent knowledge of HE working environments
  • Ability to identify opportunities and build strong long-lasting relationships
