Job Description

Registry DepartmentPaisley Campus (Occasional travel to other campuses expected)Registry Systems Specialist Salary: Grade 5 £32,982 - £39,348 per annumFull time: 35 hours per weekPermanentTHE POST - Registry Systems SpecialistThe University of West of Scotland are currently recruiting a Registry Systems Specialist within our Registry team. Within this role you will be delivering high quality support to a range of student information systems such as BANNER, Celcat, My journeyand PSMD. This role will act as a key contact to liaise between system users and the Registry Systems Development Team to effectively coordinate partnership development to core systems.As a Registry Systems Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining expert knowledge in the systems, associated reporting tools and the services delivered utilising the range of student information systems;
  • Delivering a comprehensive service supporting queries and problems associated with the operational use of the student information systems;
  • Carrying out testing and support colleagues from Registry, Schools and other professional services department (e.g Admissions, QuEST) in the completion of operational or technical changes to the systems;
  • Acting as a key resource in supporting project specific platform upgrades and major changes;
  • Delivering the development, document and implement operational changes;
  • Supporting colleagues in the development of reports and analytics utilising Banner data
The successful candidate should have the following:
  • Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a customer-focused operation, gained in the delivery of a range of services.
  • Experience working as part of a team to develop and supply core services or systems to a wider organisation.
  • Experience of working in an advisory capacity
  • Experience of building effective working relationships with internal and external agencies
