Job Description

RegistryPaisley/Lanarkshire/Ayr or London (Campus location is flexible)2 Posts, Full time, PermanentTHE POST - Registry Systems DeveloperWorking within the Registry Systems Team, you will deliver technical expertise to continually improve, develop and support the core systems which support the Student Experience. You will work to ensure the core system (Ellucian Banner) is working as expected,is fit for purpose, and maintained through upgrades and regular business. This ensures delivery of core services including Admissions, Enrolment, Progressions, Change of Decisions, Graduations, etc. Where the baseline product requires modification to meetthe needs of UWS, you will work closely with colleagues within Registry and the wider University to gather requirements, build solutions, test and implement custom code. This development improves the services offered by the products Registry use.As a Registry Systems Developer, you will work in a constantly evolving environment, due to technological advances and the strategic direction of the organisation. You will plan and implement the life cycle of software developments. Create, maintain, audit,and improve systems to meet needs, often as advised by the Senior Registry Digital Manager and Head of Registry. You will test software systems to diagnose and resolve system faults. You will be the expert in your field and make recommendations for futuredevelopments and transformations of the tools and systems in use.The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical/numerated discipline;
  • Suitable, relevant experience of professional software development including React, SQL, PHP/CSharp/Java scripting, all working with Vendor provided APIs, SDKs and data models and solution frameworks.
  • Experience serving throughout the full software development lifecycle.
