Job Description

Quality Enhancement and Standards Team (QuEST)Directorate of Learning and Teaching EnhancementPaisley Campus with travel to other campusesPortfolio Enhancement Co-ordinator - REQ000051THE POST - Portfolio Enhancement Co-ordinator, Quality Enhancement and Standards TeamThe Quality Enhancement and Standards Team (QuEST) at the University of the West of Scotland has an exciting vacancy for a Portfolio Enhancement Co-ordinator.The successful post-holder will be responsible for providing guidance and support to staff across the University on all areas of the University’s quality assurance and enhancement framework, with a particular emphasis on approval and review activities includingPortfolio Review and Enhancement and Annual Monitoring. This role is an opportunity for a diligent and conscientious individual, confident in working with a range of diverse stakeholders, with excellent communication and organisational skills, and a genuinepassion for continuous improvement in the quality of learning, teaching and the student experience.QuEST is a dedicated team sitting alongside Learning Transformation within the Directorate of Learning and Teaching Enhancement in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning, Teaching and Student Success.You will join us as we strive to continuously enhance learning, teaching and curriculum at UWS, in turn inspiring our students and wider University community and, throughmodern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting QuEST and UWS Schools with Portfolio Review and Enhancement and Annual Monitoring activities through the provision of accurate and appropriate data.
  • Supporting QuEST with institutional-level annual monitoring activities.
  • Supporting Schools with programme approval activities, representing QuEST as appropriate.
  • Working with University departments such as Strategic Planning to support the development and use of evidence in quality assurance and enhancement.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of training materials and sessions relating to key QuEST activities such as Enhancement and Annual Monitoring.
  • Working collaboratively within the QuEST Team to review and update QuEST documentation and publications.
  • Supporting short life working groups, projects, or specialist practitioner groups to address specific priorities relating to the University Strategy and Directorate of Learning and Teaching Enhancement strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will have the following:Educated to HND/SVQ Level 4 or have relevant and practical work experience.Demonstrable experience in:• Working in an HE Administration environment• Effective committee servicing including experience of minutes and report writing• Collation and presentation of accurate and appropriate data.• Updating information and content relating to internal and external websites• Prioritising and managing a challenging workload Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office Minute writing with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent Interpersonal skills. Ability to gather, collate and format information/data• Understanding of University Regulations• Understanding of the UK Quality Code• Pro-active and flexible approach• Commitment to working as part of a team• Able to engage with a wide range of colleagues across the institution• Able to use initiative and judgement to progress activities.ABOUT USThe University of the West of Scotland is one of Scotland’s largest and most dynamic modern universities.
