Job Description

University of West of ScotlandCampus ServicesTHE POST - Electrical Technician Campus Services have an exciting new opportunity for an Estates Electrical Technician to join their growing team. The post holder will be expected to undertake reactive emergency and unplanned repair requirements across all University sites and ensure thatall work is performed in a safe timeous, effective, and responsive manner with minimum downtime and disruption to service users. The post holder will also work in teams and participate in contribute to and support environmental and sustainability initiatives,monitoring and reporting across the campus.The successful candidate should have the following:

  • HNC in an appropriate approved Electrician / Electrical Engineering Discipline or have relevant and practical work experience.
  • Full current driving licence
  • An ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings, including plans, layouts, schematics, circuits and wiring diagrams for buildings or plant, equipment, fixed wiring, and control systems.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Fault finding and fault diagnosis.
  • A flexible, responsive, and adaptable approach to work is essential in this role.
