You will provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to all age groups in the community, by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies.You will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience to lead and enable the district nursing team to provide a quality nursing service. You will be responsible and accountable for assessing, planning and implementation of programmes of care as directed by district nurse. These will be developed in partnership with Patients, Family, Carers and Significant others, and will be evidence based taking into consideration the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health. You may be required to assume the responsibility of the caseload holder during short periods of sickness, absence and annual leave, seeking support as required from other senior members of the district nursing. You will participate in the implementation of evidence-based nurse interventions to meet the individual needs of patients using national guidance and standards developed by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland, Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network and Best Practice Statements. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have evidence of continuing professional development. It would be desirable if you have a current driving licence. The shift pattern for this post varies from 5 days over 7 days, 4 days over 7 and 3 days over 7, including weekends, 08:30 -16:30hrs and 14:30 – 22:30hrs. There are various hours available full time and part time posts. 37.5hrs full time 30hrs part time and 26.25 hours.
