Job Description

BUSINESS ANALYST - OUTSIDE IR35 - MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 4 DAYS ON SITE IN PAISLEYThe Business Analyst will work for a established public sector client and will be responsible for undertaking a range of business / systems analysis or design tasks, typically from a perspective of experience in a particular discipline, industry or technology. The Analyst may be responsible for tasks such as:

  • Definition of the information needs, and specification of problems.
  • Data / Information and/or Process modelling (using techniques such as IDEF and UML) - especially in designing and recommending more economic, efficient and effective means of achieving the same or better business outcome.
  • Intra-, Inter- and/or Extra/System Integration flows/exchanges
  • Investigation, analysis and simplification of systems, including data analysis.
  • Proposals of new systems, having analysed available options, including preparation of functional and systems specifications.
  • Support of functional, systems or user acceptance testing, including preparation of test scripts where applicable.
  • Support of planning, preparation of materials and delivery of training.
  • Assistance with the implementation of solutions to ensure that the expected business benefits are, in fact, realised.
The Analyst will use
  • Investigative techniques (such as structured interviewing, data collection), and
  • Analytical techniques (such as business, systems and data modelling, cost/benefit analysis, flowcharting/object-orientated analysis).
The Analyst will have
  • Good team skills, and will generally work as part of a team responsible to a Project Manager or Consultant from either within UWS or the clients business. They will have
  • Good inter-personal skills and a strongability to build rapport.
The Analyst must be
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines, working well under pressure, whilst maintaining high quality of deliverables.
  • Motivated and committed team worker. Integrates well with co-workers from clients and other organisations.
  • A rational thinker who can build support amongst clients and peers at the working level.
  • An individual who can plan and complete own work within defined timescales and scope - with only the essential minimum of guidance.
  • Able to produce inciteful and actionable reports and business cases that are aligned with the intended reader(s) and/or recipients.
