Job Description

Payroll / Accounts AssistantA leading travel/transportation company are looking for a Payroll / Accounts Assistant to join them for 2months to deliver according end to end payroll and pensions processes. You will have a sound and demonstratable understanding for all matters relatingto employee lifecycle payroll, P45 to P45 as well as the ability to handle employee and third-party queries. A friendly office environment and hybrid working.Responsibilities

  • Assist the Payroll Accounts assistant in processing total employee life cycle in payroll, P45 to P45
  • Year End Process such as but not limited to P11D, P60. PSA & Gender Pay Gap Reporting
  • Running monthly reports and perform data cleansing exercises to maintain the integrity of the Payroll and HR System, PeopleLog (RSM)
  • Reporting on overall employer costs on a monthly basis, providing detailed variance analysis for the Financial Controller and Finance Director
  • Assist our outsourced Payroll function to administer and execute pensions under auto enrolment regulations, ensuring all staff members are enrolled and that contributions are paid in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responding to payroll queries and management of the payroll mailbox
  • Liaising with and making prompt returns to external bodies such as HMRC, DWP, Office for National Statistics, Child Support Agencies etc
  • Retaining appropriate records as per HMRC and audit requirements
  • Responsible for administering confidential information and ensuring compliance of GDPR legislation, process and procedures
  • Ensure that payroll department meets and where possible exceed expectations in accordance with any agreed Service Level Agreements both internal and external
  • Advising and dealing with HR, managers and employees queries in an efficient manner
  • Assisting with the driver pension process; owning the Driver Pensions mailbox and advising drivers on queries relating to pension deductions
  • Carrying out validation checks to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Meeting all payroll deadlines agreed with RSM
  • Preparing summary of all payroll for payroll sign off
The ideal candidate will
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Book-keeping/accounting exposure
  • Exposure to payroll process
  • Experience dealing with HMRC
  • Knowledge of full Payroll processes and legislation including Maternity and Pensions
