An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated Band 6 paediatric dietitian to join our dynamic and friendly paediatric department. The team provide an in and out patient service to a variety of specialist areas including paediatric intensive care, allergy, neonates, infectious diseases, HIV, haematology and bone marrow transplantation as well as child development and liaison with our community providers to support complex home enteral feeding patients. This post would be an ideal opportunity for a band 5 dietitian with some paediatric clinical experience who is keen to develop competencies at the band 6 level. Equally this role could suit a band 6 who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge base within a range of clinical areas that the role offers. This varied role is ideal for someone wanting to further develop their paediatric clinical knowledge and skills in the acute setting. Although you will be an autonomous practitioner you will be required to work closely with our paediatric medical, nursing and AHP colleagues. We are key members of many of the various multidisciplinary ward rounds, clinics, patient caseload and business meetingsEffective caseload management, organisational and time-management skills are essential, alongside evidence of good team working and communication skills. Demonstration of initiative and ability to work independently is also required. You will be working closely within the supportive environment of the paediatric and adult dietetic team and wider therapy teams. You will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, evidence-based clinical dietetic service to all paediatric patients. It is anticipated that your clinical experience and knowledge will contribute to guideline and service development.The department is dynamic and forward thinking, actively involved in research projects, student training and has excellent word processing and computing facilities.
