A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist to complete 12 month rotations across specialist acute, musculoskeletal and community children’s services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking a forward thinking physiotherapist who is motivated to consolidate their paediatric knowledge and clinical skills as part of a dynamic Children’s Physiotherapy team.The paediatric inpatient team provide services to a recently expanded PICU, high dependency, specialist paediatric services (Infectious Diseases, Haematology, Neurology, Major Trauma) and children’s wards, admitting children with a variety of conditions: respiratory, orthopaedic, surgical and neurological. Prior knowledge and skills in rehabilitation, early mobilisation on PICU and respiratory intervention are highly desirable. The Children’s Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal Service includes assessment and treatment (face to face and virtual consultations) of common paediatric musculoskeletal conditions referred from acute and primary care agencies. In the neonatal rotation, you will work alongside the Specialist Neonatal Physiotherapist in the neonatal inpatient service and contribute to the established clinical pathways for infants with common orthopaedic conditions referred from neonatal and postnatal units. The Woodfield Child Development Service (CDS) is contracted by Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust to provide physiotherapy to North Kensington and Chelsea and Central and North Westminster localities. The physiotherapists and an experienced multi-disciplinary team work with children and young people with complex needs and disabilities in outpatient clinics, children’s centres and community settings (at home and in schools, special schools and nurseries).The post will give you the opportunity to extend your clinical and leadership skills with support from specialist children’s physiotherapists and advanced physiotherapy practitioners. You will help to provide a 7 day 24 hour inpatient service when completing acute inpatient rotations (including weekends and on-call work) and will have the opportunity to supervise Band 5 physiotherapists and assistants.
