Job Description

This Wakefield-based debt recovery service has an opportunity for a Collections Advisor/Credit Controller to join their busy-family-run business.Collections Advisor/Credit Controller - Immediate StartWakefield WF5 9TPMinimum 40 hours a week/part time flexible hours with early and late shifts + one Saturday a monthSalary dependent on experienceOn-site ParkingOur client works with businesses across the UK to retrieve money owed to its clients by customers. Theyre looking for an experienced Collections Advisor/Credit Controller to join its small, friendly, dedicated team.About the RoleAs a Collections Advisor/Credit Controller, you will be speaking to customers to chase overdue accounts and agree appropriate repayment plans, dealing with both consumer and business-to-business debt.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating sustainable repayment agreements for customers by assessing affordability and agreeing the best outcome for the customer.
  • Reviewing existing instalment plans for increase.
  • Chasing customers in arrears.
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer verbal and written communications.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to learn and develop whilst motivatingthemselves and others.The ideal candidate will:
  • Be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English.
  • Have previous experience in credit control or administration, or as a customer service agent.
  • Have previous experience as a Telephone Collections Advisor or Debt Recovery Agent, with an
  • understanding of the financial sector.
  • Show clear communication and negotiation skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to empathise with customer circumstances, whilst ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Be computer literate, with knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS and CCJ check before an offer of employment is made.
