Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Administrator to join a global manufacturing business of combustion management and control systems for industrial burner applications. Along with a salary of between £20k-£25K per annum, you will alsoreceive private pension and healthcare, 31 days holidays per year, including Bank Holidays, (3 to be used for Christmas shutdown) plus 5 family days for emergencies/problems with childcare/plumbers etc.As a business, they provide solutions to everything from the Tower of London to Vegas Casino Hotels! They have recently won their 4th Queens Award and have excellent green credentials. They are well known in their industry for quality, excellence, and innovation,and whilst they are a global business, they are still very much a family firm and are celebrating their 50thyear this year. As a Purchasing Administrator your responsibilities will include:

  • Receiving purchase requisitions from all departments including Manufacturing, Production, R&D, Accounts and HR.
  • Raising Purchase Orders using the ERP system as well as receiving and monitoring outstanding purchase orders as well as checking delivery / goods inward inspection
  • Assisting with supplier meetings including price and delivery negotiations where necessary
  • Assisting with stock take activities as and when required
  • Administrator duties such as ensuring accurate filing of invoices and purchase data to ensure accurate management reports and in line with company QMS systems.
  • Requesting quotations from suppliers to guarantee receiving best prices and lead times
  • Entering supplier invoices onto ERP system, making sure pricing is correct and parts have been received.
  • Processing invoices in a timely manner to ensure they are not late for payment.
  • Maintaining good relationships with suppliers to ensure they are receiving best price/discounts possible
  • Completing credit account applications with any new suppliers.
We are looking for a Purchasing Administrator who has the following skills and experiences:
  • Excellent communication skills and a clear telephone manner
  • Possess a can do attitude
  • Keen eye for detail with very good organisational skills
  • Good IT knowledge with working knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, and MS Outlook)
  • Team player but also proactive and able to work on own initiative
  • Previous experience of using ERP systems Opera or similar is helpful
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Have some purchasing /purchase ledger experience
