Job Description

Job Title: Production PlannerThe Skills Youll Need: Demand Planning/ Forecasting, Sales Planning, Supply Chain, Stock control, ERP, Advanced ExcelYour New Salary: £29-35k per annumLocation: OrpingtonStatus: PermanentStart: ASAPWorking hours: 8am - 4.30pm (8h shift) Monday - Thursday, Friday 8am - 1pmWho Youll be Working For: Innovative laboratory equipment manufacturer.Production Planner - What Youll be Doing:The Production Planner has responsibility to effectively plan factory production and maintain forecasts to meet the expected output of the business, to achieve its customer service targets, together with growth and cost targets.The Production Planner will develop the forecasts for the business by analysing demand within the ERP system, evaluating forecast modelling results, and work within the supply chain team to effectively plan factory output and material flows.Production Planner - Responsibilities:

  • Health and safety focus on site at all times.
  • Customer on-time delivery
  • Improvement in operational efficiency
  • Remaining within agreed budgets.
  • Engage with procurement to support availability of materials to enable production of works orders on time in full.
  • Monitor operational performance and present the data to the team.
  • Help create and implement strategies which meet business objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain KPI’s
  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
  • Support and work closely within the team to ensure performance is within agreed KPIs, provide the KPI reports to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Cross train between all other supply chain departments
  • Form key partnerships with the sales and customer services teams.
  • Play an active role in developing and maintaining the S&OP process.
  • Contribute to the setting of minimum stock holdings and batch sizes.
Production Planner - The Skills Youll Need to Succeed:
  • Professional qualification, Diploma or equivalent (not essential but desirable)
  • Experience of planning and scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • High level of MRP/ERP system experience
  • Proven track record of achievement in a relevant position
  • Driven, with a can-do attitude and a will to develop new skills and progress within the company should opportunities arise.
  • Experience of forecasting and safety stocks.
  • Able to work across a large range of product codes with various material lead times.
  • Strong IT skills particularly MS Excel and MS Access
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
