Job Description

Energy Assessor About us:Consult Construct focuses on high quality construction and surveying consultancy for a wide range of clients purchasing and building all types of property. We are an independent firm Regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. We provide comprehensive surveying, project management and design advice for commercial and residential property sectors. Our team have a vast array of professional property experience across the UK and a strong reputation for a highly responsive hands-on service.We are based in great offices, within a beautiful country setting, just outside Faversham. A satellite office is also currently planned within the Orpington area.In response to the Government’s targets to reduce carbon dioxide emissions within construction, Consult Construct have recently set up a new team dedicated to energy efficiency and sustainability in construction with aspirations to grow the team and expand the level of services in this area.Job Purpose:

  • To support the Sustainability Director in delivering SAP/SBEM calculations and Energy Performance Certificates for new build and refurbished domestic and non-domestic dwellings.
  • To assist in preparing sustainability and energy strategy consultancy.
  • To assist in the growth of sustainability team and services it provides.
    • Responsibilities & Duties:Your role as an Energy & Sustainability Consultant will require you to undertake a number of duties including:
  • Undertaking energy assessments.
  • Analysis of construction specifications and drawings.
  • Preparation of u-value calculations.
  • Preparation of summary specifications.
  • Measurement of drawings.
  • Data entry into energy assessment software.
  • Liaison with construction team professionals and clients to provide advice on meeting planning/construction legislation.
  • Provide advice on reducing energy, CO2 emissions and construction costs.
  • Attendance at meetings to contribute to the building design process.
    • Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
  • Accredited On-Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA).
  • Good understanding and knowledge of construction, sustainability and building regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organised and structured with a professional outlook and good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic CAD skills preferable.
  • Must be driven individual wishing to succeed.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
    • Opportunities:
  • To expand knowledge and assessment skills from training and mentoring.
  • To gain formal qualifications in assessment through training.
  • Working alongside other in-house construction professionals, to gain a wider understanding of construction professions.
  • Potential for crossover work with other professionals, including the Surveying/Architectural teams.
  • Expansion into other environmental assessment areas.
    • Would suit:
  • Experienced or newly qualified On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA)
  • Trainee OCDEAs will be considered.
  • Newly qualified or trainee surveyor wishing to expand experience in general construction.
  • Anyone with construction experience interested in building sustainability.
  • An existing qualified professional looking to expand their depth and construction knowledge.
