Job Description

A family owned Freight Forwarding business in Ormskirk are looking for a Trainee Freight Forwarder to join them on a permanent basis. Full training will be provided and the role will involve all aspects of export operations from the point of booking up to the point of delivery. The successful candidate will have some experience in either Freight Forwarding or Shipping. Reporting to the General Manager, the Trainee Freight Forwarder will be responsible for:

  • Processing import/export entries in Destin8
  • Liaising closely with shipping lines, placing booking with them and negotiating rates
  • Producing bills of lading and processing any amendments where necessary
  • Arranging haulage
  • Dealing with both Deep Sea and European imports and exports
  • Dealing with general queries
    • Essential Requirements are:
  • Must have some freight forwarding or shipping line experience
  • Keen and willing to learn
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible working approach
  • Self-motivated
