Job Description

Location Burscough, LancsContract Type: Full time, PermanentSalary: £25,000 to £30,000 PA Benefits: CompetitiveDavies & McGrath Law are embarking on an exciting growth journey. With plans to double in size over the next twelve months, we now require a new role of Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to strengthen our Finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, youwill perform Bookkeeping activities for the Firm. With a dotted line to the Finance Director, you will also maintain the general ledger and be able to produce draft monthly management accounts.This role will be hybrid in nature so there is a need to live within commuting distance of Burscough.Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • The Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper will ensure that our financial accounting function is completed accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Prepare the company banking and office account reconciliation using Xero.
  • Input and manage general ledgers.
  • Preparation of draft monthly management accounts
  • Analyse variances to budget.
  • Assist in collation of the annual budget
  • Creating payment batches.
  • Supplier statement management.
  • Assisting with statutory reporting to HMRC.
  • Provide assistance to the Finance Manager in completion accounts when necessary
  • Ad hoc Finance tasks and reporting as required by the Directors.
  • Essential Skills, Qualifications and experience
  • Experience in accounts receivable and payable operations,
  • Thorough understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Good mathematical ability
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical abilities,
  • Extensive experience working with Xero,
  • Must be fully AAT qualified.
