Oldham Care Organisation has three divisions; Surgery, Medicine and Women & Children. Diagnostic Services are provided on a Trustwide basis. There is on site support for Quality Improvement, Human Resources and Governance. Emergency Medicine is part of the Urgent Care Directorate sited within the Division of Medicine. The Royal Oldham Hospital has 573 beds plus Christie at Oldham on site. There is access to comprehensive diagnostics including MRI/CT and PACS with digital imaging.Our site has undergone some major developments with full refurbishment of the Emergency Department and dedicated paediatric area, new Women’s & Children’s unit including a tertiary neonatal unit and a new medical assessment unit and purpose-built Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit and a centralised laboratory.Department and Job RoleAn exciting opportunity has become available for two Specialty Doctors to join the friendly, well organised O&G Department at The Royal Oldham Hospital. These posts are fixed term for 12 months. The successful applicants will participate in a full shift pattern rota with consultant presence during the day time, and resident night consultant presence for obstetrics. There is additional support from on-call Gynaecology consultants.You will work in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department at the Royal Oldham with 5000 deliveries a year. The successful candidates will also cover the gynaecology assessment unit and inpatient ward, gynaecology emergencies; participate in theatre cases and the maternity assessment unit alongside Tier Two junior doctors. The role will be undertaking general and specialty gynaecology clinics and also antenatal clinics.The post is for two whole time equivalent posts and we welcome applications from candidates who wish to work full time or part time.The Successful applicant will to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid license to practise and have at least 4 years postgraduate training or equivalent.This is a great opportunity for doctors wishing to work in a department that provides up to date patient centred care.
