Job Description

A permanent, full time Payroll Officer role based in Oldham offering hybrid working (1 day from home) and up to £29,000 per annum, depending on experience.Client DetailsOur client is a community focussed organisation, based in Greater Manchester, who make a huge difference to the lives of those they support across the community.DescriptionThe Payroll Officer will be responsible for;

  • Supporting the Financial Controller, HR and payroll team in the implementation of schedules and templates in line with requirements from our new payroll provider, for all areas of Payroll, this can include:
  • Pensions, Sick Pay, P11D, Interfaces, Salary structures, and any other pertinent information relating to the payroll processing cycle
  • Assist and develop in the System setup and processes for example, loading templates and sense checking for errors
  • Data migration and automation
  • Adaption to current payroll run process
  • Process documentation & training/ onboarding
  • Currently trialling a weekly pay process for part of the service with view to rolling out in the autumn
  • Ad hoc tasks to aid the transition
ProfileThe successful candidate must possess the following:
  • You will have full end-to-end payroll experience, working on monthly and weekly payrolls
  • Experience with timesheets, schedules, and additional hours/complex pay rates
  • You will have an understanding on PAYE and tax code changes in order to support our staff with queries.
  • You will be available at short notice and be happy to roll your sleeves up for the project
  • Excellent understanding and experience of managing payroll procedures and relevant UK legislation for 800+ employees.
  • Stay up to date with payroll related legislation and any changes in employee compensation and tax and pension regulations to support the compliance of the business within this area
  • Able to work stand alone, and part of the wider Finance/HR team
Job OfferOn offer;
  • A permanent, full time role offering 1 day a week working from the home, the rest in an Oldham based office;
