Hours: 37.5 per weekBand 5 - £24,907 - £30,615Band 6 - £31,365 - £37,890An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist in a busy but friendly Biochemistry laboratory at Pennine Acute NHS Hospitals Trust. Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team and work across a range of sections where you will receive thorough training and gain experience in a wide range of techniques.The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest non-teaching NHS Trusts in the UK and the Biochemistry service processes over 10 million tests per annum. The department is well equipped with Abbott Alinity and Architect Ci8200 and Ci16200 analysers, Sarstedt pre and post analytical equipment, Roche Cobas E411, TOSOH G11, Sebia Capillarys & Hydrasys protein electrophoresis equipment, HM-JACKarc analyser for FIT testing and IL blood gas analysers. The department is fully computerised with Clinisys LabCentre.The custom built, state of the art Central Service Laboratory at The Royal Oldham Hospital opened in March 2007 and also serves the trust sites at North Manchester General Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital, Bury and Rochdale Infirmary. There are Essential Service Laboratories at North Manchester General Hospital and Fairfield General Hospital.The philosophy of the laboratory is to promote best practice and provide a quality service. The department is approved by the IBMS for pre and post registration training and is UKAS accredited. CPD and further study is encouraged and supported.You will be required to adopt flexible working patterns and may be required to work on any of the Trust sites. Once fully competent you will be expected to contribute in round the clock provision of the Biochemistry service.
