Job Description

Accounts Assistant // Oldham // Full time or poss for part time // @£28-32,000We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced all round accounts assistant to join a well established construction business in the Oldham area.This is a full time role but there is the possibility of making this a part time position if preferred (any 4 days).Based in the office each day, the role will offer great variety and will support the finance manager and also work closely with the MD.There is the opportunity for progression in the next year or two if this is desired.

  • Setting up new customer accounts
  • Updating the cashbook and reconciling with bank statement and resolving queries
  • Post purchase ledger invoices by way of purchase order process (material and plant)
  • Check and process all expenses ensuring all are approved in time to be paid
  • BACs Weekly / monthly payment run for material and plant suppliers
  • Posting general overhead invoices and coding
  • Reconcile the company credit cards
  • Maintain the purchase order register and match to delivery notes where applicable
  • Invoice and Statement runs
  • Raising Credits Notes
  • Month end procedure
  • Monthly accruals and preparation of journals
  • Close the sales and purchase ledger creating reports throughout the process
  • Setting up recurring and staged invoices
  • Inputting labour time sheets on to the job costing report
  • VAT coding
  • Assist the Finance Manager with payments and payroll queries
